Finding a new market of customers when you have an existing customer base can be tough to do. This is because as an entrepreneur you tend to see what it is you want to see. It’s hard to find your first customer let alone build a stable group customers so when it comes time to grow you may be unable to see an opportunity that is right in front of you. Just because you have a certain kind of customer now doesn’t mean your business can’t consider serving a new kind of customer in the future.
It appears Apple will be releasing a lower priced phone. Not because they have to but because they want to. The current price points on existing iPhones is leaving a market of customers outside of the Apple ecosystem. By launching a lower priced iPhone, Apple is able to attract a new type of customer that they currently do not have inside their walled garden. While the new iPhone may not have the same features of existing iPhones such as Face ID, the hardware will provide the same high end customer experience that Apple is known for.
What kind of customer does your business serve right now? If you made some adjustments to the products or services available through your business, could you attract a new kind of customer? Are there customers your business is not able to help right now that could be helped if you reconsidered what your business does? Opportunity is everywhere and you are only limited by your ability to see things differently.
