Move backwards, stand still or have faith

I consider myself someone who is risk adverse and the events of the past year have proven to me one thing: you cannot do great work if you are afraid to move forward in faith. In referring back to the life of Jesus I see that he epitomizes the idea of moving forward in faith. Everything he did was larger than life and he really put himself out there in terms of trusting that God would direct his words and actions to achieve his plan. I believe that God has a plan for each of us independent of where we might currently be sitting. Romans 8:28 tells me that "all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose". This means to me that I can trust God to direct my steps as I move forward. Going into next year our business cannot afford to stand still as it has for the past 5 months. We are not achieving anything by being nervous about pursuing opportunity. By lifting my business to God each day I need to trust that He will open the doors that need to be opened and will close the ones I should not be walking through. After recovering from a economic tornado like the one that has recently passed I find it difficult now to dream and have a vision for the future. At the same time I recognize that I cannot stand still because we lose ground with every day that goes by that we chose to not gain ground. Lord, strengthen my faith and help me to discern your will for my life and the business you have entrusted me with.
