Proof of faith and failure

I find myself in a moment in time where I am struggling with the idea of "proof of faith". I understand the idea behind being tried and persevering through trials of all kinds but I can't look at myself and honestly say that I am confident in my proof of faith. I cower into my own thoughts and allow myself to start to think through the worst of cases and get frustrated by how unreliable my feelings are. Even writing this I know better than to lean on myself however the practice of living it is so difficult. God give me the strength to follow you and seek your will everyday.
