Spiritual maturity - am I getting older?

I have spent the past week reading and thinking about Romans (up to verse 8).  I feel like this year God has done an amazing job of opening my eyes and making subtle changes to my heart.  I seem to be pulled towards the idea that the Bible helps us to understand that we are inherently evil but gives us remedy (Jesus and his life) to correct the problem.  The fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) gives us instruction on how to live our lives everyday.  While I have been aware of the fruits of the Spirit for some time now it has only been over the last year that I am learning how to use them each and every day.  It is not only how I can feel God's presence in my life but they also serve as tools in which God can reach other people through me.  I look forward to each day and continue to find refuge in God, His Word and His promises.
